### Overheard Somewhere, Somehow: Monument Valley 3 and Sound – A Chaotic Journey
July 22, 2025, save the date if you want your mind to get completely blown—or gently rocked—by Monument Valley 3 on Xbox Series X|S. And yeah, there’s also this limited edition vinyl. But later about that.

So, starting this project at ustwo games, the mission wasn’t to make just any game soundtrack. Nah, we wanted the music to almost breathe or something. It needed to latch on emotionally to every twitch and turn of the player’s journey.
And guess what? It worked. Awards and nominations came knocking like a persistent neighbor.

Working with Lucie Treacher, we tossed traditional composition out the window. Because, why not? The plan was to build a world that sucked you in through your headphones. Seriously, get some good ones when this drops.
#### Making Music World’s Weirdest Way
So, if you’ve played Monument Valley before, forget the zen stuff from the past. Nope, I didn’t even revisit those soundtracks because starting fresh sounded more fun. It’s like waking up one day and deciding to paint the walls neon green without a care.
Each game level became its own musical creature. New instruments joined the mix: think Bansuri, Gamelan, and Kora. Oh, and we didn’t just pick these because they sound hashtag exotic. They added layers, like a sound sandwich.
#### Water, Interactive Sound, and Other Madness
Here’s the kicker: we made the sound change if you rotated stuff in-game. Move a block, and boom, another note. Lucie and I played around with water sounds—a lot! Rivers, lakes, you name it. Each splash turned into a part of the song. Like liquid jazz.
#### Handmade Feels and Emotional Highs
Trust me, the gears you turn will sing. Every scene becomes an orchestra you somehow conduct. One piece I’m weirdly attached to involves paper and origami—it unfolds visually and musically with crinkles and all.
The whole audio vibe fits Noor, the lead character, who’s on this wild emotional rollercoaster of grief, hope, and maybe other stuff I can’t even articulate. Basically, the music hugs you through it all.
#### Coming At You, Xbox Players
Headphones are a must. More than a suggestion, almost a requirement really. Listen closely, and you’ll find details that tickle your brain cells.
Look, I’m just thrilled for everyone to experience this. Monument Valley 3 isn’t just about visuals and story. It’s the sound journey that maybe—just maybe—speaks volumes.
Release is global, so nobody’s left out. Optimized for all the fancy Xbox stuff, and best appreciated at full blast. The vinyl soundtrack is out there too, if you’re into collecting.
Grab Monument Valley 3 on July 22. Set sails, spin circuits, or whatever gets you going. Hope you uncover Noor’s story, and maybe a little bit of your own along the way.
And oh, there’s a Monument Valley 1 & 2 bundle out there. Because why not package nostalgia with new adventures?
