Release Date for Snake Eater Unintentionally Revealed

According to a fresh leak, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is scheduled to hit the shelves on August 28, 2025. This information was briefly available on the PlayStation Store, along with a trailer featuring key characters like Eva and The Boss.

Fans of Metal Gear Solid have been eagerly awaiting the release of Snake Eater since its announcement back in May 2023. With this accidental reveal on the PlayStation Store, this marks the conclusion of a long period of anticipation. Konami has been quite busy reviving its iconic Metal Gear franchise, which hasn’t seen a new entry since the lackluster reception of Metal Gear Survive in 2018. After rejuvenating some classics with the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, Konami revealed their big plans by announcing a remake of the beloved 2004 Snake Eater. Yet, despite teasing it in their 2024 game trailer, the developers didn’t confirm a launch date last year, leaving some portions of their fanbase a bit uneasy. It’s important to remember that this leak might have scooped what was potentially planned as a big announcement at an upcoming PlayStation State of Play event. Given the timing and the circulating rumblings, many suspect Konami intended to reveal the launch date during this Sony showcase. Even so, there are whispers about other major titles like Ghost of Yōtei and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach making a splash at the next State of Play.
