Overwatch 2 has just launched its mid-Season 15 update, delivering a host of exciting content for fans to dive into. Among the highlights of this patch are buffs for numerous heroes, a continuation of the collaboration with LE SSERAFIM, and a brand-new weapon skin for Widowmaker. Plus, there’s plenty more to keep players engaged, with the Freja trial kicking off on March 21 and the GOATS meta event following closely on March 25. It’s shaping up to be a thrilling few weeks for Overwatch 2 enthusiasts!
Last month, on February 18, Overwatch 2 dropped a huge Season 15 update that shook up the game with significant changes including Perks, Loot Boxes, and a competitive rank reset. This marked a pivotal moment as it was the first update to incorporate content revealed at the recent Overwatch 2 Spotlight event.
Fast forward to today, and the mid-season patch has added even more flair. The second LE SSERAFIM collaboration brings fresh skins for heroes like D.Va, Ashe, Mercy, Illari, and Juno, plus some recolored versions from the previous event. Players who missed out on the Fawksy James Junkrat skin have another shot at it through in-game challenges. And that’s not all! From March 21, players can get an early look at Freja ahead of her Season 16 debut, while the beloved 2018 GOATS meta is returning with the Overwatch: Classic event on March 25, featuring the era’s iconic balance changes.
Naturally, no update would be complete without addressing hero balance, and this patch is no exception. A significant number of heroes are receiving boosts to their abilities this time around. Junker Queen, Roadhog, Brigitte, Genji, and Mei have had improvements to help them become more compelling choices in matches. Notably, Illari’s Solar Rifle also sees a change, where using Quick Melee no longer pauses the rifle’s recharge.
Though many heroes are benefiting from buffs, a couple haven’t been as fortunate. Bastion and Torbjorn face a setback, with Bastion’s once-dominant Self-Repair now governed by a resource meter, and Torbjorn’s Turret encountering a decrease in its health and damage, though some lost power is regained through the Craftsman Minor Perk.
Beyond hero adjustments, Widowmaker fans have something special to look forward to. The Mythic Shop is now offering the Dame Chance weapon skin, complete with evolving animations, sound effects, and a unique flourish where Widowmaker twirls her Grappling Hook—perfect for players keen on showcasing their precision.
