Roblox CEO Dave Baszucki recently addressed parental concerns about the platform’s potential risks, suggesting that if parents are worried, it’s best to keep their children off it altogether.
During an interview with the BBC, Baszucki, the co-founder and CEO, emphasized the importance of parents using their discretion. He stated, “If you’re not comfortable, don’t let your kids be on Roblox.” Although this advice might seem a bit contradictory, he trusts parents to make the right choices for their children.
When questioned about reports of negative experiences and the presence of harmful individuals on Roblox, Baszucki was clear about the company’s stance: “We believe that even a single bad experience is one too many. We monitor for bullying and harassment diligently, filtering out harmful content. Our commitment to safety sometimes even extends to collaborating with law enforcement if the situation demands it,” he explained.
These remarks come in the context of increasing reports about bad actors on Roblox. In response, the company is putting significant effort into strengthening its safety measures to better protect its young users.
