In a notable development, the Boston-based game developer, The Molasses Flood, has joined forces with CD Projekt Red, the renowned Polish gaming company. This announcement was made through a post on The Molasses Flood’s website, confirming that as of April 1st, they have been fully integrated into the company known for the hit title, Cyberpunk 2077. It’s important to note that this merger does not impact the previously released games by The Molasses Flood—titles like The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow. As part of its current endeavors, the studio is diving into Project Sirius, a new multiplayer game set in The Witcher universe.
In light of these changes, Damian Isla, the founder of The Molasses Flood, has decided to step down from his role at the studio. Reflecting on the transition, he shared his thoughts on LinkedIn, saying, “This marks a significant shift, no doubt. The Molasses Flood has been central to my life for well over a decade, and I’m immensely proud to have contributed to its longevity in a market that often challenges small teams like ours. We’ve crafted some delightful, unique, and memorable experiences, and I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented, generous, and kind-hearted professionals in the industry.”
