I have to admit, I’ve never been to Evo, but the spectacle in Vegas this year—from August 1-3—is gonna be wild. Imagine players from, what, 60-odd countries, all colliding in one hotspot? It’s a rush. The sheer energy is palpable, like that eerie calm before a storm. How they pack the Las Vegas Convention Center again, only the best of the best leaving with the glory, it’s something else.

And they’ve really outdone themselves this year. More games than you can throw a punch at. Sixteen titles, if you can believe it! Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6, Guilty Gear Strive, the list just keeps going. It’s almost too much to take in. Almost.

Somehow, they didn’t just stop with the games. Panels, demos, cosplay—you name it. Even an Artist Alley crammed with over 100 creative souls selling their wares. And an Evo Museum? What? I half expect to see artifacts from the dawn of gaming time. It’s dizzying.

Oh, there’s this Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls debut too. Apparently, you can try it out August 1-3, thanks to Arc System Works. Controllers galore—DualSense, Razer Kitsune, you name it. Marvel might’ve teamed up with PlayStation Studios and Arc System Works for this—talk about a power trio. And peek behind the curtain at the Developer Combat Panel on August 1. I just might need to clone myself to catch it all.

And then there’s FlexStrike. Imagine a wireless fight stick by Sony. It’s like they read my dreams. First time on display at Evo, and I might just drool a little seeing it in the flesh.

Oh, and the PlayStation Summer Sale, it’s tempting me hard. Tekken 8, Mortal Kombat, all discounted like candy after Halloween. Those attending get extra perks—discounts on PS5 accessories? Too good.

If you can’t make it there, like me watching from home, streaming’s on Twitch and YouTube. Pretty neat that you can join in from your couch and still feel the electric vibes of competition. It’s like FOMO-proofed.
