Sure thing, here goes:

Okay, folks. So here we are, after Summer Game Fest 2025. And guess what? Still zero news on Hollow Knight: Silksong. It’s like a cruel joke at this point. How many years has it been? Six since the first announcement in 2019. Time flies, huh? Yet, here we are, empty-handed.
Geoff Keighley didn’t help, by the way. Dude totally jabbed us right in the feels during the Deadpool VR trailer reveal. Not even gonna lie, the skit with the letter from Wade Wilson was clever. Something about skipping the Silksong trailer for his revolutionary gig. Funny, but ouch. Neil Patrick Harris as Deadpool could be intriguing, though, if I ever actually get a VR set. Sigh, the woes of a modern gamer.
You’d think after so long, the disappointment would fade. Nope, still stings. Zero new trailers, mostly radio silence from Team Cherry, and they even delayed it indefinitely in 2023. We got a whispered 2025 release date from a tiny clip in the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, and that’s about it. Feels like chasing shadows, you know?
The original Hollow Knight from ’17 is legendary. Hands down, one of the best Metroidvania games ever. So, the silence only turns the anticipation dial up to eleven. Almost feels like Elden Ring all over again. Anyone else getting déjà vu?
Oh, and those Steam backend updates? Total tease. We were ready for a trailer, a release date, maybe even the game just dropping out of nowhere. Spoiler: none of that happened at Summer Game Fest. I was biting my nails in anticipation.
But hey, there’s this tiny flicker of hope still flickering in this cynical brain of mine. The Xbox Games Showcase on June 8, 2025, might have something for us. That’s like, my last thread of hope. Microsoft’s always parading their upcoming titles, and with Silksong hitting Game Pass on release day, wouldn’t it be perfect timing?
Aaron Greenberg from Xbox marketing did tell us not to overhype stuff. Easier said than done, Aaron. But a breakthrough announcement has to be there, right? A Silksong release date would be golden. A shadow drop? Well, that’s asking the universe for a lot, isn’t it?
Even if it’s another letdown, well, heartbreak’s kind of familiar territory. Bloodborne fans unite.
Anyway — let’s just cross our fingers and hope for the best.
