Alright, so hold on—remember 2016? Yeah, that Star Trek Beyond flick that Doug Jung was all over? Well, guess what? He’s now steering the ship for this upcoming Mass Effect TV show thing. Seriously, he’s penning and running the whole shebang. Wild, right?
Deadline—yep, that Deadline—spilled the beans on all this. Jung’s done a lot, like scribbling down The Cloverfield Paradox in 2018. And get this, he’s tangled up with Mindhunter on Netflix, too. Wrote a couple episodes there. Busy guy, I swear. Oh, and don’t forget he’s also doing Apple’s Chief of War. That’s a historical drama, for those keeping score at home.
Now, here’s a fun part. Jung’s not flying solo. Oh no, he’s got writer Dan Casey and Michael Gamble from Electronic Arts riding shotgun as executive producers. That’s a team, people.
Amazon gave this Mass Effect show the thumbs up back in November 2024—though don’t hold your breath for a release date. They’re keeping that one close to the vest. Interestingly, their Fallout series also hit the screens to a bunch of applause, and yep, more of that is on the way soon, too.
So, there it is. A jumble of exciting chaos. Who even knows where I was going with this?
