There’s exciting news in the gaming world as a film adaptation of the newly launched “Split Fiction” appears to be in the works.
This tidbit comes from Variety, which highlights that Story Kitchen is spearheading the project, tasked with assembling the cast, writers, and a director. This is the same team that has been involved in adapting Hazelight’s previous hit, “It Takes Two,” for Amazon, not to mention their work on adaptations for “Toejam and Earl,” “Slim Rancher,” and “Vampire Survivors.”
It seems like Hollywood is buzzing with interest, as offers are reportedly pouring in from several prominent studios.
“Split Fiction” hit the shelves earlier this March and made quite the splash, selling a whopping one million copies in the first 48 hours. In just a week, that number soared to two million.
Hazelight shared their excitement on Bluesky, exclaiming, “Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing,” in response to the game’s success. They extended their gratitude to both new and longtime fans, cherishing the enthusiasm surrounding their latest release.
As for the “It Takes Two” movie, it’s shaping up to be a noteworthy project with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson involved and the writing prowess of Pat Casey and Josh Miller, who penned “Sonic the Hedgehog,” bringing the story to life.
