Man, you know how sometimes you’re just scrolling through the PS Store and you stumble on some crazy game deals? Like, they’re almost hard to pass up. Anyway, they got this wild 75% off thing going on for PS4 and PS5 games right now. Loads of good stuff, sure, but also… well, some not-so-great ones too.
Oh, hey, speaking of deals, check this out: BioWare’s Anthem. It’s like, way cheap right now on the PS Store. Normally it goes for about $20, but they’ve slashed it down to $5! But heads up, if you’re thinking of grabbing it, don’t sit on it too long. The whole thing wraps up at the crack of dawn on May 22. Or… 2:59 a.m. ET, to be exact. Why 2:59? Beats me.
So, what’s Anthem all about? You team up with three other players, basically. Roam around in these cool javelin suits that kinda dictate how you play and stuff. Sounds like the game’s got this whole gripping story with characters that’ll stick in your brain. And, yeah, you don’t need to worry about playing solo ’cause the matchmaking system is supposed to be top-notch.
I remember when Anthem first dropped back in 2019. Critics were all over the place with their reviews. I think Metacritic had it sitting at a 59? Lots of mixed feelings. Like, our own take was a 7 out of 10. Not terrible, not amazing. Personally, I was hoping Anthem would blow everyone away, but it ended up being this mixed bag. Really, it’s like, part awesome, part meh. You’d expect more from BioWare, but hey, things happen.
But get this, even though the reviews weren’t stellar, the game was showered with award noms. Like it was in line for the Most Wanted Game at the 2018 Golden Joystick Awards and Most Anticipated Game at the Gamers’ Choice Awards. And it actually snagged Best PC Game and Best Action Game at the Game Critics Awards 2018. Funny thing though, all that buzz was before the game hit shelves. Makes you wonder, right?
