Over the past weeks, Strategist players in Marvel Rivals have faced some tough challenges. Healing was already a demanding task, but it became even more daunting when a Spider-Man player would swoop in and knock you back to the spawn point. The current game environment favors speed, making speedy heroes the powerhouse figures, and leaving Strategists working extra hard just to hang on. However, the mid-season patch might just bring some relief.

In a recent Dev Talk post, NetEase openly addressed the ongoing support crisis that’s been troubling players since the start of season 2. This season’s spotlight is on highly mobile heroes like Iron Fist, putting Strategists under intense pressure. They have had to keep a close eye on their teammates’ health while skillfully managing their abilities and maintaining a strategic position on the map, as explained by NetEase.

To alleviate these pressures, NetEase announced they will be enhancing the damage output for support players, aiming to make them more threatening and thereby broadening team strategies. Additionally, heroes like Groot and Captain America will be a bit easier to overcome, and landing that notorious Spider-Man uppercut is about to become a lot more challenging.

This update is expected to go live in early May, coinciding with the introduction of Ultron to the game. According to official footage, Ultron will take on a Strategist role.

With NetEase planning to expand the hero roster rapidly, updates like these are crucial for maintaining game balance.
