According to recent updates, NVIDIA’s board partners have been informed about a delay in the release of the RTX 5060 series GPUs, which are now set to arrive a few weeks later than initially planned.
Just as the GeForce RTX 5070 is gearing up for its debut, we’ve come across new reports indicating a holdup with the RTX 5060 series. Originally, these were rumored to launch in March with availability in April. However, the latest whispers suggest a further pushback.
The exact reasons for this delay remain vague, but it appears all of NVIDIA’s board partners have been briefed about the change. While there’s no official word from NVIDIA yet, the delay seems credible. Earlier reports mentioned possible bugs and supply hurdles as factors, but NVIDIA hasn’t confirmed any specifics.
NVIDIA has communicated internally via email to all AIC partners about the postponement of the new RTX 5060 Ti and 5060 series. All brands have been alerted that the RTX 5060 Ti, both in its 16GB and 8GB versions, may now debut around mid-April, with the standard RTX 5060 series following in mid-May. We’ll have to wait for further updates from NVIDIA on the exact timing.
As for the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, word on the street now pegs its launch for ‘mid-April,’ with the GeForce RTX 5060 expected to follow in ‘mid-May.’ It seems both variants of the RTX 5060 Ti will hit the market simultaneously. However, NVIDIA’s board partners still await precise launch dates.
Meanwhile, there’s buzz that the release of these RTX 5060 series GPUs might overlap with AMD’s RX 9060 series. The RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 cards are poised to enter as direct competitors to the 8 GB and 16 GB RTX 5060 Ti cards, though details on their launch are also speculated for the second quarter.
In terms of specs, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is set to be the next step up from the RTX 4060 Ti, featuring 4608 CUDA Cores, 8/16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a power draw of 180W. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 aims to supplant the RTX 4060, boasting 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a 150W TDP. There’s been a recent leak suggesting a 12 GB version of the RTX 5060, which might give NVIDIA an edge over the RX 9060, expected to offer just an 8 GB option.
