During the latest PlayStation State of Play, there was a big reveal—PlayStation Studios, Marvel Games, and Arc System Works, all teaming up to give us a spanking new Marvel fighter. They’re calling it Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. It’s a mouthful, right? Slated to crash land on our PS5s and PCs come 2026.
### Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls – Surprise Announcement?
So, this new game, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, promises a who’s who of Marvel characters. Think Captain America, Iron Man, Spidey, Doctor Doom, Storm, you name it. They’re all here, mixing it up with moves straight out of the comics—at least that’s what they say.
Now this is where it gets kinda cool. Kazuto Sekine, who I guess is the Game Director or something, said they wanted pretty much everyone to play it. Usually, in these fighting games, you gotta juggle multiple characters—like a clown with too many balls. But here, just stick to your favorite superhero, press a few buttons, and make magic happen. Makes you feel like a pro without, well, being one.
What really got me? The 4v4 battles. Most games do 2v2 or 3v3, but they thought, “Nah, let’s shake things up.” Think of the chaos! Sekine even mentioned how this could jazz up the whole tag-fighting scene. I mean, who doesn’t love a bit of chaos on their screen?
Oh, and guess what? Alongside Marvel Tokon, Sony put out word of this new gadget, Project Defiant. It’s a wireless fight stick. Supposedly lets you game with super low lag, thanks to PlayStation Link. You can plug it in with USB-C too if wireless isn’t your vibe. Call me intrigued.
