Thunderful recently unveiled their second developer diary for "Lost In Random: The Eternal Die," set to launch on the Nintendo Switch. This installment features insights from Oskar Hanska, the narrative director, who delves into the game’s storytelling elements, character development, and the intricacies of voice acting.
The game, crafted by Stormteller Games—formerly known as Thunderful Gothenburg—marks another chapter in the dark, whimsical universe of Lost In Random. As a rogue-lite action adventure, it promises players an engaging, twisted journey.
In this new adventure, Mare the Knight traps Aleksandra, once called The Queen, along with her ally Fortune, inside the mysterious Black Die. Players must navigate a labyrinth fraught with danger, battling monstrous pawns and oversized board games that randomly generate obstacles. Each victory brings treasures that are crucial for overcoming Aleksandra’s captor, yet it’s your cunning and your trusty die companion that will be your true saviors in this realm where chaos prevails and unpredictability is king.
A few standout features of this game have been highlighted by its publisher:
- Mastery Meets Chance: Dive into fast-paced combat that mixes real-time action with strategic choices—plus a little dash of luck.
- Forge Your Playstyle: Equip four distinct weapons, utilize your die companion, and combine over 100 relics with potent card-based skills to create powerful combinations.
- Ever-Changing World: Explore four dynamically generated worlds, each harboring unique secrets and challenges while confronting over 30 different enemy species and formidable bosses.
- A Dark Fantasy Tale: Lose yourself in a fully voiced story nestled in a Tim Burton-esque universe, adorned with hauntingly beautiful scenery and an enchanting musical score.
"Lost In Random: The Eternal Die" is scheduled to be available digitally on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch globally in Summer 2025.
